Peels & Resurfacers

What’s the difference between a skin resurfacer and a chemical peel?

The difference between peels and resurfacers is in the strength and penetration of the active ingredients.

Skin resurfacers are superficial exfoliating treatments and work only on the top layer of the skin, clinically referred to as the stratum corneum. Conversely, chemical peels are more intrusive as they penetrate the mid to lower layers of the skin. Although both treatments are effective, it is important to note that chemical peels require a longer downtime and therefore patience and a commitment to taking meticulous care of your skin pre and post treatment.
